The Grenada National Resort Project is bringing Holiday relief in the form of food vouchers to two hundred (200) families in the community of St. Patrick.
For the past two months, the principals of the project have been collaborating with the two Members of Parliament for the area—Honourable Pamela Moses and Honourable Anthony Boatswain—to undertake the initiative, by identifying those most in need, and their needs, as well as coordinating to ensure a smooth handover and roll-out of the donations.
Earlier today, (Wednesday, November 17th), the investors handed over $44,000 XCD to Honourable Pamela Moses, who accepted on behalf of the St. Patrick community. The cash value of the cheque will be disbursed, as agreed, to local supermarkets, for the provision of food items, at a total value of two hundred dollars (200 XCD) per family. Recipients can purchase food items of their choice for the value of the vouchers. Each voucher also comes with a greeting card.
Against the backdrop of the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Grenada, which saw many people suffer temporary unemployment or job losses as businesses shut their doors to help curb the outbreak, with several going out of business altogether, the Grenada National Resort Project is helping to relieve the burden of those most affected, and doing so in advance of the Holiday season.
According to Company Representative of the Grenada National Resort Project, Mr. Mike Liu , he is “optimistic that the vouchers will not only bring a small measure of relief in the form of food security to families this Holiday season, but that they will also show the Grenada Resort Project’s abiding commitment to the development of the people and community of St. Patrick.” Mr. Liu further stated that St. Patrick is now their “home” and that they “look forward to the ongoing partnership with the community and to advancing their friendship and cooperation.”
Though the Grenada National Resort Project at Levera is in the very initial stages of development, she was, is and will stand with the communities to contribute to a shared future.
